Bellevue beats Mercer Island, 8-3
The rain didn’t damper the Wolverines’ rematch against rivals Mercer Island. Bellevue played an energetic and action-packed game, taking the W, 8-3.
The ball was equally possessed between both teams, which did limit Bellevue’s offense, however, Bellevue did have some great plays and shots off. Ashley Kwon played an amazing game, scoring 5 goals in addition to 3 assists and 4 steals. Lacey Aquaro also played great, with 2 goals, 3 assists, and a steal. Ellie Albert was an offensive asset, getting a goal, a steal, and constantly helping make plays. Goalie Audrey Grays was excellent in cage, making 12 super saves.
The first quarter was quite entertaining, with 5 combined total ejections, and 2 Bellevue goals, score 2-0 Bellevue. In the second quarter, it slowed down a bit, with 2 combined total ejections, MI penalty, and a MI goal, score 2-1 Bellevue. The third quarter picked back up, both teams got some goals in, another MI penalty, and 5 total ejections, score 5-3 Bellevue. The fourth and final quarter continued the energy, Ashley Kwon got 2 goals within 30 seconds of each other, 3 combined total ejections, and an MI misconduct. The game ended with a score of 8-3 Bellevue.
The season is coming to a close! Next Monday, May 8th, is Bellevue Senior Night! Bellevue will play SI at Woodridge Swim Club, @ 5:30pm, with Senior Night festivities to occur after the game. Be there!
