Four Wolverines named Academic All-Americans

In early September, four Wolverines were recognized by USA Water Polo as 2012-2013 Academic All-Americans. To be honored as an Academic All-American, student athletes must have a 3.6 GPA or higher and compete in a USA Water Polo National Event (Junior Olympics or ODP). Those receiving a 4.0 GPA or higher earned honors as outstanding achievers.

Sierra Anderson (Senior)

George French (Senior)*

Liam Naughton (Junior)*

Marco Stanchi (Junior)

* Outstanding Achiever

Not only did these four Wolverines excel in the classroom, they also excelled in the pool. Anderson, a 2012 and 2013 team captain, was named First-Team All North last spring. French, a 2013 team captain, was named First-Team All-State last fall. Stanchi was named First-Team All-State and Naughton was named Honorable Mention All-State last fall.

Congratulations to these outstanding student athletes.  For more information about the USAWP Academic All-American program, visit this link: http://www.usawaterpolo.org/genrel/090513aab.html.
